Around 20 years ago, East Plano High School was at the center of a Heroin scandal. There's still a problem in Plano ISD.
There's been a muslim community in North Dallas and Collin county for at least 35 years, for most of that time, it has been peaceful and law abiding.
Dallas County police were burned by the handling of the Ahmed Mohamed clock incident in Irving, only 10 years ago. And burned again by sniper fire during a BLM "demonstration."
The area is an obvious target by militant islamists.
Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin have also been targeted. We see in Europe and England where it can go. Texas cannot go the same way.
As much as I dislike both Cornyn and Paxton, this has got to be stopped.
I lived in Irving during the Ahmed Mohamed "Clock Boy" incident - and the person that suffered the most was his teacher, who followed Irving ISD protocol by reporting the original incident involving his "clock" - and was vilified, doxxed, and eventually fled the district for her own safety.
Meanwhile, Irving's (then) Mayor - Beth Van Duyne - who relentlessly fanned the flames of the resulting publicity through repeated appearances on right-wing media- eventually won a seat in Congress, where she remains today.
Ahmed & his family quietly relocated to Qatar.
I have no idea of the current whereabouts of his teacher, except to assume that she will forever be "collateral damage" in a high-profile culture war that continues to this day.
I think I remember that Ahmed’s father was a Quatari diplomat - so they “fled” home , and that a sympathetic law firm took up his suit against Dallas. I wonder if it was the same firm now represnting EPIC?
As for the Downtown Dallas sniper incident you mentioned above- I was in charge of a TV News Assignments Desk that night covering what had been a routine "Black Lives Matter" march - when one of my photographers screamed "shots fired" over our two-way radio, followed by all hell breaking loose on every police radio frequency I monitored.
I spent the rest of the night worrying that one of my co-workers would be shot, -punctuated by reports of one "officer down" after another. The scene was barely three blocks away from our newsroom.
Eventually, the overnight newsroom shift arrived to relieve us, and DPD officers directed us to drive through the edge of an active crime scene to leave the station.
I vividly recall the smell of gunpowder in the air as teary-eyed cops allowed us to depart Downtown Dallas for our homes, knowing many of their fellow officers lay dead.
It was a horrible night I will never forget - and would never wish on my worst enemies.
If you dislike Ken Paxton then you are probably one of those people that thinks your politician should be your drinking buddy. I would rather despise a morally result oriented person Ken Paxton then love an immoral loser like John RINO Cronyn.
John Cronyn is a traitor and as RINO as Mitch McConnell and is actually worse because he is a freaking TEXAS senator. These leftist terrorist sympathizers need to be purged from our state. I can’t wait for the election so we can get a real fighter for Texas values in there. Did you know Ken Paxton got Texas out of the Green New Scan from Joe Bribem? He is the only one as far as I know that sued the federal government and WON!

Very sad.
Good on Beth then. “Fan the flames”?? Are you joking? You mean highlight an issue?

Two faces of infiltration and terror: bomb (clock) boy and sniper.

Good. I despise them both. So happy we agree.
